Sold $12384

2yo Brown Colt

  • Sire: Wandjina
  • Dam: Pentolite (NZ)
  • Foal Date: September 16, 2016 (AUS)
  • Trainer: Matt Cumani (VIC)

Bred on the same SNITZEL / NORTHERN DANCER cross as 10 stakes- winning colts (11% of male runners), including RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, INVADER, SUMMER PASSAGE and WANDJINA himself

“A stand out type with a strong, powerful walk. This perfectly proportioned colt is the spitting image of his sire, the VRC Guineas winner, Wandjina. A good looker with Snitzel and Pentire as his grandfathers we’re hoping he will be our Guineas horse.” – Matt Cuumani

This Colt was purchased by Cumani Racing in partnership with renowned bloodstock agent Craig Rounsefell at the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale as Lot 174 on 10-Jan-18 for $180,000 plus GST. Super VOBIS, VOBIS Gold and Magic Millions Race Series registered, there are a host of bonuses on offer for new owners of this colt.

A son of Champion Sire SNITZEL, WANDJINA was a million-dollar yearling who raced on to become an outstanding racehorse. He was precocious enough to win at two and twice placed fourth in stakes races including the highly rated Group 2 Todman Stakes at Rosehill.

At three, Wandjina placed in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas before returning to win the Group 3 Hayes Stakes (1400m) and then the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m). He later placed against older gallopers in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes.

His first-crop yearlings averaged more than $140k at the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale.

PENTOLITE is a daughter of PENTIRE (GB) – broodmare sire of five-time Group 1 winner SHOOT OUT, Group 1 New Zealand Stakes winner SAINT EMILION and 12 other stakes-winners.

She raced just once before retirement but is a half-sister to four winners including Group winner MOLLY DOT COM and stakes-placed MARY ELLEN. She descends from DAINTY EYES (3rd dam), matriarch of 7 stakes-performers (15%).

Her first foal by FOXWEDGE has run two encouraging fourth-placings in strong maidens in Victoria, early in 2018.
