This colt's dam, QUEEN OF AVALON, has already produced three winners
We are pleased to again support Matt Cumani with the sale of shares in another yearling colt, this time by the exciting SHAMEXPRESS.
Selected by Matt and renowned New Zealand Bloodstock Agent Phil Cataldo, this colt is due to be imported to Australia this winter and settle into Cumani Racing’s Ballarat operation.
SHAMEXPRESS is a New Zealand-bred son of the great sire O’REILLY. He won Australia’s premier handicap sprint race, the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington and in doing so recorded a terrific Timeform rating of 124. He won at two and trained on to win at three and four years of age.
His oldest progeny are two-year-olds, with one winner so far this season in Australia from just three runners (to early June). In New Zealand his four winners have propelled him to leading first-season sire status.
QUEEN OF AVALON is a daughter of outstanding sire and broodmare sire MONTJEU (IRE). She is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner MONACO CONSUL (VRC Derby and AJC Champion Stakes), and hails from the family of Australian Guineas winner MILITARY PLUME.
She has produced three winners already from just four runners.
The Pedigree Cross
This colt’s pedigree boasts the same O’REILLY / SADLER’S WELLS cross as five stakes-winners (10% of runners).
Shamexpress’ first two crops have been exceptional types. He has already started to prove his quality on the track with his progeny scoring on six occasions including a black-type quinella.
